About Me

Before training as a counsellor, I worked in health and social care—as a carer supporting people in their own homes, and later as a senior carer and mentor in a care home. I have a particular interest in supporting individuals through age-related challenges, such as loss of independence, health changes, grief, mobility issues, or loneliness. I also offer support to those who are witnessing the effects of aging on their loved ones, helping with any concerns that arise.

I bring my own lived experience of self-harm, depression, and anxiety into my practice. Having personally benefited from counselling at various points in my life, I was inspired to train as a counsellor to support others on their journey to improved mental wellbeing.

My approach is holistic and integrative, tailored to your unique needs and circumstances—without expecting you to fit into any set mould. I draw from person-centred, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioural approaches. For more information on these, you might find this article helpful: The main counselling approaches: What are they?

I have additional training in working with neurodiversity, including autism and sensory challenges, as well as specialised training in ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) through BEAT. I am also trained in the Rewind Technique, which supports trauma processing in a gentle and effective way.

I enjoy working creatively with clients to express things that may be difficult to put into words. This might involve exploring early childhood experiences, working through trauma, or simply choosing a more creative therapeutic path. You may wish to use tools such as sandtray therapy to explore behavioural patterns, crystals and stones to help with grounding, mood and family cards to deepen your understanding of relationships, or even create your own resources—because no one knows you better than you know yourself. I have also completed additional training in inner child and parts of self work, Gestalt therapy, dream analysis, and intergenerational trauma.

Together, we will build a bespoke counselling service centered on your individual needs, creating a safe, supportive, and positive therapeutic relationship.
